岩石教堂(芬蘭)：源自地下的祈禱岩石教堂位于芬蘭首都赫爾辛基，是一座可以用驚嘆形容的現代建築。站在教堂外，映入眼簾的是一塊巨大的岩石，看不到一般教堂所具有的尖頂和鐘樓，只有一個直徑20多米的淡藍色銅制圓形拱頂暴露在岩石的最上面。該教堂由提姆(Timo)和託姆(Tuomo Suomalainen)兩兄弟設計，1952年開始修建，1969年完工。修建過程中，設計師放棄將基地上的大岩石當作建築基座，轉而選擇以岩石本身作為教堂基座和牆壁，將岩石磬空，並加上透光的穹頂，簡單利落的塑造出令人驚嘆的空間氛圍。這座位于市區密集住宅群中，充分融合外來材料和原有地質地形，是赫爾辛基這座岩石城最好的見證。

巴西利亞大教堂(巴西)：另類的洋蔥　這座現代化的教堂坐落在巴西首都巴西利亞，由奧斯卡-涅莫亞(Oscar Niemeyer)設計，1970年5月31日完工。整體呈現雙曲線型，16根拋物線狀的支柱支撐起教堂的玻璃穹頂，遠處看去好似變形的洋蔥。教堂大廳位于地面以下，內部最大為直徑70米。這座現代化的教堂見證了巴西利亞這座最年輕的世界人類文化遺產城市的輝煌。

雷克雅未克教堂(冰島)：龐大的管風琴雷克雅未克教堂高74.5米，是冰島第四高的建築，以冰島著名文學家家雷克雅未克-帕特森(1614-1674)的名字而命名，紀念他對冰島文學的巨大貢獻。它的設計者建築師古炯-薩姆雷森(Guðjón Samúelsson)于1937年接手建造，共花費了38年時間才最終完成。該教堂設計新穎，管風琴結構，主廳高30多米，最多可容納1200人。

約瑟夫教堂(美國)：十三個黃金穹頂　 1956年建成的約瑟夫教堂位于美國芝加哥，是一座波蘭式天主教堂。它的獨特之處在于其超現實主義的十三個黃金穹頂，最大的一個代表耶和華，其餘的十二個象征他的十二門徒。內部的裝飾洋溢著拜佔庭風味，牆壁上留有大量精美的壁畫。可由于壁畫作者還沒有來得及在教堂留下自己名字之前，就被驅逐出境，壁畫作者之謎也為這座獨特的教堂平添了幾分神秘的色彩。

原宿教堂(日本)：色彩的調和板原宿教堂(Harajuku)屬于現代主義的新教教堂，由天藍色唇彩創意公司(Ciel Rouge Creation)設計，于2005年完工。整個建築現代感十足，六道曲線拱形牆加上鐘塔，充分彰顯空間本身的個性，變化莫測和遊離光影，博得“光之教堂 ”的美名。在大面積的白色中搭配海藍，橘紅，並融合自然光，為這座莊嚴的建築平添了幾許人文詩情的味道。
